Web design Trends in 2010
Month
Web design in Devon has weathered the storm of the recent economic downturn. Web design agencies in Devon have been able to pitch accordingly due to the industries flexibility. Now that the worse of the economic crisis is over it is predicted larger companies will invest wisely, focusing on key areas such as online marketing or a full website re-design.
Web design trends in 2010
- Usability: Improvements in an existing sites usability will have direct results on conversions and customer retention.
- Mobile Push: With a rapidly growing number of consumers turning to mobile web designers can now streamline existing sites content onto a rich mobile platform reaching out to a wider target audience.
- Keeping it Simple: This year we will see websites becoming simplified and streamlined. When we decided to redesign our website we did so with a strong motion to move away from the web 2.0 clichés. 2010 is likely to see a strong influence from the Grid System in future layouts.
- Fonts: Web design has been restricted in the use of fonts in the past because of the lack of available fonts on a user’s computer. However we will hopefully see a greater number of sites adopting new typefaces using CSS3 (@font-face )which doesn’t require the user to have the font you wish to display on their computer.
- JavaScript: Increased use of JavaScript libraries such as jquery to introduce interaction with a purpose.
- Location Awareness: Knowing a users exact location can obviously have its benefits, especially when integrating it with a targeted marketing campaign.
